West Richland Police Force

The West Richland Police Department is a progressive law enforcement agency which is poised for future growth with the surrounding community. The police services provided to West Richland incorporate a proactive approach of enforcing laws and interdicting criminal activity, as well as partnering with local residents, businesses and community groups to effect a positive change to the safety and security of the community members and visitors. Currently the WRPD participates in the METRO Drug Task Force, Traffic safety emphasis programs and has one assigned detective. In addition to full time police officers there are full time support staff and a volunteer force which includes an active Reserve Officer Program. The WRPD provides 24/7 coverage to an area exceeding 22.7 square miles. Future plans include expansion in our participation with our regional partners as well as expanded programs within the department.

Fingerprinting Information:

  • Civilian Fingerprinting, for City of West Richland residents only, is done on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 am to noon and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
  • Cost is $15.00 for up to two cards, and $3.00 for each additional set.

Concealed Pistol License Applications:

  • CPL applications are processed, for City of West Richland residents only, Tuesday-Thursday from 8:30 am to Noon and 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm.
  • Cost is $52.50 for a new CPL, $32.00 for a renewal, $42.00 for a late renewal up to 90 days past the expiration.
  • Anything past 90 days is considered a new application and you must be re-fingerprinted.

Fireworks information:

  • All Fireworks that are legal in the State of Washington are also legal in the City Limits of the City of West Richland ONLY.
  • To view a portion of the West Richland Municipal Code regarding fireworks dates/times of sale and use and age restrictions, visit WRMC section 8.22 “Fireworks.”
  • Dates and times when fireworks can be discharged in 2015:
    • July 2nd & 3rd – Between 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.
    • July 4th – Between 6:00 p.m. and 12:00 midnight
    • Dec. 31st – Between 6:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. on January 1st

  • Emergency Management Agencies of Benton and Franklin Counties have begun using CodeRed – a high-speed mass notification system designed to keep you informed in the event of an emergency. This system allows for the delivery of emergency messages to you via phone to your landline or mobile device, as well as through text and email.
  • Generally, non-life threatening alerts will be sent to email only. Alerts that pose a higher threat or cause significant adverse conditions may be sent to email and text message. Emergency alerts that pose a serious or significant risk to life and/or property will be sent from all devices that you have selected.
